NVIDIA Encode SDK is a powerful toolset that includes all the components and libraries for taking advantage of NVIDIA's latest set of GPUs in application development.

With the help of this technology, the stress on the CPU is much reduced since the GPU can take much of the load off it. Also, the power consumption should decrease as compared to CUDA's similar encoder.
