SoftCopy is a high-performance virtual printer driver that will produce output in PNG, BMP, JPEG, PDF and TIFF image formats. After installation, SoftCopy appears as just another Windows printer to all your applications. When you print to this printer, you can choose to write the output to any of the supported image formats.

SoftCopy is truly an all-in-one virtual printer driver that supports multiple image formats within one product. Unlike most of our competitors, there is no need to install a new driver for each additional image format. You decide which image format you wish to write to at the point of final output.

SoftCopy supports unattended operation. This is achieved through an extension DLL, which supplies SoftCopy with the filename and image format for each output file instead of asking the user to specify them interactively. You can either use the sample extension DLL that comes with the default installation, or write a custom extension DLL to suit your unique application requirements. To find out more about unattended operation, please refer to our online documentation.

SoftCopy supports many output options:

· Page size. Supports all forms and page sizes defined in the system.
· Resolution. You can decide whether the output is 100, 200 or 300 dpi.
Color. You can decide whether to print in color, grayscale or even black-and-white.
· JPEG compression. You can specify custom JPEG compression settings for the output.
· TIFF compression. You can specify up to 5 different compression schemes for the TIFF image format, which includes the latest JPEG-within-TIFF compression scheme.
· PDF compression. You can specify custom PDF image quality settings for the output.
· Single/multi-page format. You can specify whether to print each page in a separate TIFF/PDF image file, or to write all pages to a multi-page TIFF/PDF image file.
